Net Zero Business Pledge

Net Zero blue and green logo

Show your commitment to reaching net zero by joining the Net Zero Business Pledge

As a leader in the green industrial revolution, the West Midlands plans to become a net zero carbon economy by 2041.

To help us achieve this, we want businesses across the West Midlands to join us through their own net zero journey. By making a Net Zero pledge, organisations across the West Midlands demonstrate their commitment to reducing their carbon footprint and reaching net zero whilst also gaining access to expert advice and guidance around translating their pledge into action.

Visit the Net Zero Business Pledge website to learn more and make your pledge today.

Delivered by independent not-for-profit organisation Sustainability West Midlands, the pledge is free to sign up to, with no technical requirements or commitment to a specific net zero target date needed. Organisations of all sectors and sizes are eligible as long you are within one of the 17 local authority areas listed below*.

Your business’s promotion

A reputable badge of honour that shows you are thinking about net zero and are part of a wider community in the West Midlands committed to making the region more sustainable.

The WMCA and sustainability experts Sustainability West Midlands (SWM) review all the pledges, meaning you are kept accountable for the commitments you publicise.

Case study features such as videos and blogs are regularly created of pledgers and publicised through a range of channels including the WMCA and SWM’s networks.

Peer-to-peer learning

Drop-in events are run every two months (normally online but with in-person events a few times a year)

These are a chance to learn from each other, ask for help, and share ideas and challenges with a cross-sector group.

Each session includes a case study from a pledger and a presentation to demystify the net zero agenda or make you aware of other support available to you.

SWM will also be on hand with expert help and guidance.

Expert knowledge and support on net zero

Access to an exclusive toolkit to help businesses:

Understand net zero and its associated risks and benefits,

Reduce their carbon emissions and operation costs through energy, waste, and transport with step-by-step guide using tools, checklists and quick wins,

Find further support through links to external organisations and resources.
